Anna Belanger graduated from one of Canada’s most challenging massage therapy programs. The 3000 hour training was provided by BC’s West Coast College of Massage Therapy. The intense training allowed Anna to train in many different hospitals and outreaches but she found her calling when she was assigned to BC Women’s hospital. She gained valuable experience treating women with high risk pregnancies, post c-sections and routine births. She was also one of the very few that volunteered to work in the Fir ward, this limited access area was designated to drug and alcohol addicted women who were expecting. Compassion, empathy and nurturing was what these women received on a weekly basis from Anna.
Over the years Anna’s practice grew beyond the challenges of pregnancy. She would see women going through fierce challenges in their life: breast cancer, eating disorders, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, fertility challenges, fibromyalgia and other autoimmune disorders. In 2008 , Anna, her husband and 4 children moved from Vancouver to Ottawa.
It wasn’t long that she realized that her expertise was needed. In 2009 she opened Ottawa’s first massage therapy clinic dedicated to women in Old Ottawa South. Anna has since opened 3 more clinics and these practices and can be found in Orleans, Barrhaven and in Shopify Headquarters. She is actively supporting her community with charitable work as a sponsor through United Way. She not only gives back financially but with countless volunteer hours. Anna’s desire to be the best transcends not only through her work but her personal hobbies. She is an accomplished marathon runner, 2016 karate world champion in sparring and has an over all love for fitness.
Anna strongly believes in leading by example.
